When people hear “moving to France,” they picture Paris. Eiffel Tower, endless wine, tourists everywhere. That’s not our plan. We’re not moving from Boston to Paris. We’re moving from Taunton, Massachusetts — a small city — to Colmar, France — another small city.
Because small city life is what we like. It’s familiar. Just… saner.
The Taunton Reality
Taunton has about twice the population of Colmar, but fewer transit options. If you don’t own a car, good luck. Sidewalks lead to highways, buses are scarce, and biking feels like a death wish. Housing prices keep climbing, grocery bills never stop, and stress is baked into the daily routine.
It’s not terrible — it’s just survival. And we want more than survival.
The Colmar Contrast
Colmar has fewer people, but more options.
- Public transportation that works.
- Markets you can walk or bike to.
- A historic, beautiful center that feels alive, not abandoned.
- Housing that doesn’t require selling your soul to the bank.
We’re not moving for glamour. We’re moving for livability. For a small city that makes sense.
Why This Matters
Because not every American family can or wants to move to Paris. That’s not realistic. But trading one small city for another? That’s relatable. That’s possible. That’s what we’re here to prove.
From Taunton to Colmar, from chaos to croissants.
